Be the Water

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. This is one of, ‘The Great Invitations’ of Jesus Christ to all the people on earth. The Spirit is obviously the Holy Spirit and the bride, is us the church. As members of the church, we are to always welcome those that thirst into our church family. Then we’re given instructions, we the ones who have received Jesus Christ as our Saviour are to say, “Come.” When I was a child my friends and I would watch Big Time Wrestling, with stars like the Junk Yard Dog, Big Bad Ernie Ladd, and others. We would imitate the

Want Power?

I Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise, And God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. Only an immutable and sovereign God could write something so liberating to mankind. No monarch on earth would think this way. Kings want power, they surround their courts with the wisest of the wise. They arm their knights with the best armour that they can afford, they display their power. It’s like president Roosevelt said; “Speak softly, and carry a big stick, you will go far.” This was called ‘Big stick diplomacy.’ When President Roosevelt sent our navy halfway around the world, to make a show of American

Need Help?

Psalm 19: 12 - 14 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. King David had some deep understanding when it came to the way of the Lord, and himself for that matter. One time I saw someone go take communion, well, let’s just say they were not in a perfect walk with the Lord. Standing in the back of the church I was deeply concerned for that person’s wellbeing, I prayed, I forget wha

Live Free

Psalm 69:33 For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners. Blessed be our God and His son our Lord Jesus Christ for such a comforting word as this. There are several different takes on how this verse could be translated. It all comes down to the very last word, the peculiar use of the word prisoners. Some versions change it to read: needy ones, or his people in prison. But it’s clear that the intended use of this word or implied meaning, according to the root word in the original Hebrew was: Asiyr’ / Aw-sere’ : ‘Those which are bound’ captives, or a prisoner. Paul and Silas certainly could have identified with this scripture when in the book of Acts chapter 16, they were

Generational Faith

II Timothy 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that is in thee also. Apostle Paul is writing his young protégé’ and pastor Timothy a letter of encouragement. And as always Paul’s command and use of words are superior, showing his intellect and his holy dispensation in the knowledge of scripture. He uses the word as a sword, cutting through to the very heart of any situation. I honestly believe Paul was one of the most intelligent men that ever walked the earth, and combining that with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, it brings me to the most intellectual word I can produce at

Choosing to Forgive

Isaiah 43:25-26 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. Father God blots out our sin for His sake. I wish I had His ability to His extent. There have been times when I have spoken to people that severely wronged me, (I guess they thought I didn’t know what they had done?) Smiling and being as polite as possible, but in my mind, I’m thinking ‘Dude! I know what you did!’ I remember a person that was very close to me that hurt me deeply. I prayed and asked God how could they possibly have done this to me? He answered and said: “They haven’

Problem Solving

II Thessalonians 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. In this Epistle, Apostle Paul is encouraging his disciples to remain and stand fast in the Lord. He is also setting some people straight in their charity, unless a man work, he should not eat. This needed to be said because people were quitting their day jobs and expecting the church to support them. Why would people do this? Because they thought the rapture was going to happen at any moment. Now, in this letter, Paul is setting the church straight about timelines. He tells them to stand fast, this means to be stationary, to persevere. Persevere a word m

How to Abound

Philippians 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. Positionally this letter is to a group of saved Christians. The Philippian church was founded around 51 AD, St. Luke was the pastor of this church for the first 6 years. With Luke being the pastor I’m certain they were doctrinally sound, Paul is writing this letter out of deep gratitude for their offering delivered to him at great cost. Epaphroditus delivered the offering to Paul and almost lost his life during the process. You can almost sense the gratitude and love in Paul’s heart for the sacrifi

Renovate Your Thoughts

Ephesians 4:23-24 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. A similar scripture can also be found in: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Years ago, I was at a men’s bible study, there were some pastors and other well-known Christian men attending bible study that evening. A young man recently new to serving the Lord asked us about this verse. “ How do you go about renewing your mind?” I was much younger than these other Christian men, I sat there and liste

God Gives

Ephesians 4:11-12 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. This is the order of the callings in Christ, Jesus starts off with the calling of apostles. This being the hardest call attracts the least number of persons called and for good reason. The apostle is an Ambassador for Christ this person should be able to demonstrate the miraculous powers of Christ for they are sent out as a messenger for God to establish new churches. The enemy will do everything possible to stop this work, the few apostles that I have met have suffered

Through Him

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Jesus told Paul His strength is made perfect in weakness. Paul goes on to say that he would rather glory in his infirmities. Infirmities comes from the Greek word, astheneia / as-then'-i-ah it means feebleness of body or mind, by implication a malady, or moral frailty, sickness or weakness. I sometimes find myself praying to God for strength, when in fact I should be praying to God to show His strength in my weakness. When we are young there seems to be no mountain that we
