Be the Water July 29
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
The Great Invitation of Jesus Christ and the Spirit is the Holy Spirit. The bride is we the people. As members of the church, we are always to welcome those that thirst into our church family. Then we're given instructions, we the ones who have received Jesus Christ as our Saviour, are to say, "Come."
When I was a child, my friends and I would watch Big Time Wrestling, with stars like the Junk Yard Dog, Big Bad Ernie Ladd, and others. We would imitate the wrestling moves in the living room of my friend's house. In the mayhem of our little matches, one person would go down on the mat, and another would tag his partner. The partner would enter the ring and do a body slam from the hearth of the fireplace. It was hilarious and so much fun. After all that hard work, we would have to take a break and get some water.
Maybe not quite to that extent, but perhaps, in the Spirit it is? When we tell someone about Jesus, we have just tagged the Holy Spirit. After we leave (Honestly, before we even entered the ring.), the Holy Spirit jumps in and takes over the match. He will wrestle with that person on behalf of that person. A wrestling ring that we as Christians have all entered. The great 'Cage Match' is a battle of the flesh, the opinions of others, and the tactics of the enemy.
The Holy Spirit will tag-team others to witness to that person until that person is so thirsty for the salvation of Christ that they will drink from the Water of Life freely. Don't be afraid to share the gospel of Christ with others; the truth is that when you do, the Holy Spirit will flow through you.
If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Jump in the ring; when you get tired, tag the Holy Spirit, He always wins the match.
