Generational Faith July 25

II Timothy 1:5

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that is in thee also.

Apostle Paul is writing his young protégé' and pastor Timothy a letter of encouragement. And as always, Paul's command and use of words are superior, showing his intellect and his holy dispensation in the knowledge of scripture.

He uses the word as a sword, cutting through to the very heart of any situation. I honestly believe Paul was one of the most intelligent men that ever walked the earth, and combining that with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, it brings me to the most intellectual word I can produce at this moment: "Wow!"

Let's look at the use of the word unfeigned. Unfeigned originates from the Greek word: an-oo-pok'-ree-tos. This word originated from another Greek word, Alfa or Alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet. It means genuine and sincere, but I can't help but think it is no coincidence that Grandmother Lois's faith, sincerity, and genuineness established her as the Alpha in Timothy's faith.

Amazingly, in a wolf pack, the lead dog is the Alpha female, she takes the lead on the hunts, or the expeditions, bringing back the meat. Grandma Lois did the same, except she brought back the meat of the word.

Thank God for grandmothers that pray for their children and grandchildren! They can change the course of a family the eternal destiny of all their lineages. They are staying on their knees or sitting in their rocking chairs praying for loved ones, laying up an inheritance for the children's children.

Proverbs 13:22

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

We always hear about generational curses, But Grandma Lois laid up generations of faith. She created for her family and us the blueprint for Generational Faith.

You can do the same, God has been around a very long time, and He has a great memory. He does not forget the prayers of His saints.
