Burden Bearer

Mathew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. When you read this how can you think anything other than how much God loves you? On more than one occasion, while praying for people I have had a vision of Jesus wearing a crown of thorns and all, placing a yoke upon His shoulders. If one is not familiar with old school farming methods your first thought would be, “Why would I want that?” It was not uncommon back in the day to see two horses side by side, one being smaller than the other. Th

The Lord Will Choose a Sign

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Let me give a little bit about the historical background. It starts about 250 years before this event, when the twelve tribes of Israel split into two different nations, one called Israel, which was composed of ten tribes. The other two tribes were Judah and Benjamin the two smallest tribes, which made up the kingdom of Judah. The king of Judah was extremely wicked, and his name was Ahaz. Israel allied with their neighbor Syria, the two kings decided that they would attack Judah, kill Ahaz, and replace him with another king, mainly they wanted to c

Only God Could

Ezekiel 4:1 Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and portray upon it the city even Jerusalem. I’ll have to paraphrase this devotion because the verses needed are too long, but please open your bible and read verses 1-7. The Lord is telling Ezekiel to take a tile and make a drawing depicting the city of Jerusalem. Next, he tells Ezekiel to build fortifications around it, laying siege to the city. Then here comes the confusing part, God tells Ezekiel that he will lay their iniquity on it, He’s going to judge them for their sins. He then commands Ezekiel to lay next to the city on his left side for 390 days and 40 days on his right side. Each day will represent 1 yea

True Dat

1John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure. It seems like every man struggles with hope, hope defines us for who we are. The usage of the word Hope comes from the Greek translation, el-pece´ which means: expectation or confidence: - faith, hope. People can easily place their hope in the wrong things, every belief you have is trust-based, someone or a source that you trusted shared some information, or taught you on a subject, with or without rationale you placed your belief, (i.e... faith) in the information given. Here’s an example: Take Darwinism, through media you’re constantly being inundated with the Theory of biological evolution, and if y

Your Day in Court

Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because God does not punish sinners instantly, people feel it is safe to do wrong. Does this verse relate to what’s going on in the world today? It seems as though people have no regard for God or man, no fear of judgment. I have heard people say something like this: “If you don’t get caught it’s not a crime.” But, the truth is this, even if you were caught and paid the maximum penalty of human law, you will stand in judgment before God, and if you’re not caught, you will stand in judgment before God. In verse 13 it reads: …their days shall pass away as quickly as shadows because they don’t fear God. Their days will end, and when their life is over it will seem as though i

Happy Father's Day

Psalm 103:13 He is like a father to us, tender and sympathetic to those who reverence him. Webster's dictionary defines the word ‘Reverence’ as, Profound respect mingled with love and awe; as for a Holy being… God loves us, in fact, you can’t out love God, as much love as you can muster, He still loves you more. He’s a Father to us loving and compassionate.Tender means to take care of any person or thing and sympathetic has a large meaning, but I believe He means to suffer in our pains. Psalm 103 describes several attributes to Father God, and the Psalmist calls these “His Benefits” Here are some of God’s Benefits listed in Psalm 103: He forgives all our iniquities, He heals our diseases, H

No Limits

Psalm 119:96 I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad. This is one of those verses you can read over and completely not understand and just keep on reading, or maybe you will pause and think about it for a second. What the Psalmist is saying is this: I have seen a limit to all completion. In: Psalm 104:9 And then you set a boundary for the seas so that they would never again cover the earth. Everything has a boundary, even the oceans. God set a limit to what things can do, a plane can only fly so high, a horse can only run so fast, and we can only live so long, and the earth will have an end. …but thy commandment is exceeding broad. Jesus said in: Mathew

A Call to Be With Me (Holy Spirit)

Ecclesiastes 7:8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Truer words could not have been written to govern our times. Our nation is in adversity & much trouble. People scoffing in the land that wants to be free. When you read or watch the news there is so much violence and so much hate. Place the afore trio into a funnel and it dribbles down to this, bondage. It is all about trying to bind the Holy Spirit, and The Holy Spirit has told me, ‘He wants to be free, it’s a bondage of Me.’ “This is the beginning of a bitter thing, a Spiritual battle that Christians must fight on their knees, in it with Me, It’s a battle

His Truth

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. The day of the forbidden fruit, what did we do? We have all partaken of the forbidden fruit, the fruit of temptation. Everyone is tempted by the enemy, and just like Eve, we have all eaten. There are so many ways the enemy can deceive. Jesus is the way the truth and the life; Satan is the father of all lies, quite the contrast. The enemy has so many ways to beguile, and here is one of the worst lies he uses to deceive us, the lies we believe about ourselves. Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will defeat me, (I ad-libbed that rhyme to

LOGOS / RHEMA

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. & Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. In the beginning was The Divine Expression, the Logos of God. Notice that in John 1:1, Word is capitalized, this is because it is the name of Jesus Christ. When written In the original Greek, they used the word Logos, and Logos means: The Divine Expression (That is Jesus Christ,) or something said, an account, preaching, reasoning and much more. When they translated it into English, they simply translated it: Word, sometimes capitalized and sometimes not. In the second verse Romans
