Mark 3:11-12 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known. A strange form of flattery, don’t you think? And Jesus had none of it, with His authority He commanded them to not make Him known. The enemy had a plan of attack, Satan was sacrificing his front-line pawns just like a battle formation. Attacking the front line, the only line by sending people that were demonically possessed and yelling, “We know who you are thou Son of God!” But what was he trying to accomplish? My first guess would be pride, puff Jesus up, crack that armor that so easily causes all of us to

What are you Wearing?

Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled, and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. I’ve noticed over the years certain people that are dishonest in business believe everyone is dishonest, it hurts a little when they accuse me of the same. But I know that the reason they impute this towards me is because that they are unconsciously projecting their values onto me. The very next verse 1:16 reads: They profess that they know God, but in works they deny Him… Sometimes I think this should read: but at work they deny Him. Many people go to church on Sunday and then on Monday at work there just one of the guys. I think the

God Most Awesome

Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered. There it is again, one of my favorite sayings; “And it shall come to pass,” remember it never reads it came to stay. Whosoever shall call, that covers a lot of people and it covers you. The word call means: to invoke aid, to worship, testimony, to make a decision, these are powerful words in God’s ears. We can call on God through worship, praise, and our testimony. The things we’ve said about God in the past and present. If you have confessed God to be a miracle-working God, chances are you believe that. How do you call upon the name of the Lord? By knowing His name, this is why I place

Your Pedestal

Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; breakup your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Hosea was a prophet of God serving in the Northern Kingdom from 760 BC to 725 BC. He was known as the ‘weeping prophet’, a heartbroken man serving the Lord at all costs. Hosea was instructed by God to take a wife of whoredom, a prostitute named Gomer. Obedience can come at a heavy price, in this case, God needed to make an example for His people. He chose Hosea, to symbolically represent Him and His love for people. Hosea loved Gomer, but she wasn’t faithful, and by that, I mean really, unfaithful. At one-point, Gomer left

Where's Your Corner?

Leviticus 19:9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. This is known as one of the sundry laws, various laws given by God as instructions to live by. This was a unique system in which the poor could earn a living by gleaning the fields. In an agricultural society, this provided enough for people to get by. A farmer was not to strip every last bit of grain from the field if the head of grain fell to the ground it was to be left for the poor to come and pick up. Neither were they to harvest the corners of the field. But what are the corners? Some of my family members own olive orchar

Great Pleasure

Psalm 37:4-5 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. I love this verse, it’s a promise from Father God to you. It’s your first instruction, your potential, your future. How do you delight yourself in the Lord? This is an interesting choice of words by the psalmist, King David. Delight in this instance comes from a Greek word called: katatrechō it means to run down from a tower, to hasten, to move quickly, then going into the root word it translates into the word: delight which in this case is used as a verb giving it the meaning of action required on your part, and

Happy Birthday

Colossians 2:12 Buried together with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead. God is so awesome; we have traditions that prove His existence. Unbelievers think that the bible is just a book written by a man, if that were the case, we would all probably be getting tattoos with fish or crosses on them to prove our faith. But God always has a plan, so where did baptism begin? Exodus 14:22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. When the Hebrews left Egypt and crossed through the Red Sea the nati

The Finger of God

Luke 11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. This verse is powerful and yet perplexing, what exactly is the finger of God? Jesus in all His glory has just cast out a devil from someone, this person was a deaf-mute unable to hear or speak. You would think that people would rejoice but instead, they accused Jesus of working for the devil. It’s always amazing the power people will attribute to the enemy, their so quick to believe that Satan would do this, heal someone to deceive. Jesus counters by telling them that a kingdom divided will not stand. This is an interesting choice of words by Jesus, “the Finger of God” and it’s much deep

2 Chronicles 12:9 -10 So King Shishak of Egypt conquered Jerusalem and took away all the treasures of the Temple and of the palace, also all of Solomon’s gold shields. King Rehoboam replaced them with bronze shields and committed them to the care of the captain of his bodyguard. Inheritance, the passing of something old, something of great value, maybe it’s wisdom, a pocket watch, some property, or a bank account, either one is to be valued. King Solomon left behind great wealth for his Son, King Rehoboam, he even left great teachings written in the books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, & Solomon’s Songs. Sadly, King Rehoboam didn’t value all that his ancestors had passed down. When the Hebrews l
