Problem Solving July 23
II Thessalonians 2:15
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
In this Epistle, Apostle Paul is encouraging his disciples to remain and stand fast in the Lord. He is also setting some people straight in their charity; unless a man work, he should not eat because people were quitting their day jobs and expecting the church to support them.
Why would people do this? Because they thought the rapture was going to happen at any moment. Now, in this letter, Paul is setting the church straight about timelines. He tells them to stand fast, and this means to be stationary, to persevere. Persevere is a word most Christians don’t want to hear. We rather the words: Miracle, Rapture & Blessing.
Paul was letting them know that tough times would come before the return of the Lord and that the “Ap-os-tas-ee'-ah,” or the “ The falling away,” would happen first. Apostaseeah means many Christians will give up their faith and probably take the mark of the beast.
But have you ever noticed how many problems Paul dealt with concerning his churches? Indeed, he must have wanted to give up, and he talks about going on to be with the Lord or staying here for our sakes. All his struggles, every church error that needed to be corrected, he wrote in these long letters. How many times did he rest his head in his hands in disbelief?
We can see that he unknowingly was adding to the old testament helping to create the New Testament. He wrote more than half the books!
II Corinthians 1:4
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
We have so many problems in our lives to be dealt with. Maybe God knows your strength, your perseverance, your ability to stand fast and to allow Him to be strong on your behalf.
Watch what God can make out of you.
