God's Will

Matthew 6:10 (NIV):

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Today I was praying about something that I believe is God's will. And I don't know if it was prophetic, but I spoke these words: "God's will, God's way!"

I wish God’s will moved on my timeline; it would undoubtedly be faster than a fast-food drive-through. My point is we always want same-day service; I want to pull up to heaven's throne room, place my prayer request, and pull off into fulfillment.

Psalm 37:4 (NIV): Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37 reminds us of Who gives us those desires. I had a profound experience in understanding this verse: God places the desire for something in our heart, and then, in His time, He gives us the fulfillment of the desire.

If we take a moment to break down Psalm 37:4, we can find a treasure of meaning.

Taking Delight in the Lord involves finding joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment in your relationship with God. It goes beyond mere obedience or duty; it's about cultivating a deep and intimate connection with the Creator.

The Desires of Your Heart refers to the things you long for, wish, or pray for—those deep-seated aspirations and wants that are meaningful to you.

God's Involvement God actively shapes and guides your desires. It suggests that the desires that arise within you are sometimes inspired or influenced by God, His will, be done on earth as in heaven.

Timing and Fulfillment: God's timing in fulfilling those desires is not always immediate; it occurs in God's time. Faith is fulfilled through patience (ouch). God's will, God's way, is a reminder that if He has a desire, it’s His will, and when it’s His will, He will do it in His spectacular way. God is so good.
