Burden Bearer October 2
Mathew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
When you read this, how can you think anything other than how much God loves you? On more than one occasion, while praying for people, I have had a vision of Jesus wearing a crown of thorns, placing a yoke upon His shoulders.
If one is not familiar with old-school farming methods, your first thought would be, “Why would I want that?” It was not uncommon back in the day to see two horses side by side, one being smaller than the other. The stronger horse carried all the burden. The other horse was more for companionship, a friend to walk alongside.
When Jesus asks you to take His yoke, He’s saying, I will take the burden for you, learn about Me and My ways, and I will carry your load. You can be My companion, and My ways will give you rest.
It’s a curious thought of how He says: “My burden is light.”
Make Him the Light of your Life.
