Exodus 32:31-33 Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold! Yet now, if You will forgive their sin-but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which you have written.” And the LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.” As far as conversations go, none have ever been more serious than this one. While Moses was on top of Mount Sinai the people made a golden calf and called it god. Moses told everyone that was on the Lord’s side to come to him, and then he had the priests go and kill everyone that didn’t cross the line, about three thousand men. One way to get sin o

“A Prayer for Relief”

Psalm 56:8-9 You number my wanderings; Put my tears into your bottle; Are they not in Your book? When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me. What precious words written by King David as he reflects back on being captured by the Philistines and taken in the City of Gath. He instructs the chief musician to set this to the music, “The Silent Dove in Distant Lands” A Michtam of David, which means poem. “Prayer for Relief from Tormentors.” The thing is, David walked into the city of Gath, he was on the run from King Saul who wanted to kill him. David had wandered around in the desert for so long with the threat of death on his heels every day that st

“I’m Going Fishing” Trilogy part III

John 21:4-7 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore, yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. Therefore, that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. This is after Jesus’s resurrection. John 21:3 Simon Peter said to them. “I’m Going Fishing.” Peter had been commissioned to be a leader, and he has lead in the wrong direction by returning t

'THE HOOK' Trilogy part II

Mathew 17:24-27 When they had come to Capernaum, those who received the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax” He said “Yes.” And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?” “Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the fish that comes up first, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money: take that and give it to them for Me and you.” Capernaum was a small fishing village located on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus had established His headquarters there for several mo

The First Disciples Trilogy part I

Luke 5:4-10 When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon: “Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” “Master” Simon replied, “we’ve worked hard all night long and caught nothing, but at Your words, I’ll let down the nets.” When they did this they caught a great number of fish, and their nets began to tear. So they signaled to their partners, in the other boat to come and help them; they came and filled both boats so full, that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw this He fell to Jesus’s knees and said, “Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man Lord!” For he and all those with him were amazed at the catch of fish they took, and so were James and John, Zebedee’s sons

“A Nail in a Firm Place”

I Corinthians 1:18 18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 21: For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them. 25: Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of is God stronger than men. Have you ever been called a fool for Christ? Maybe you knowingly did something good for someone who had wronged you in the past. Your friends and family members perceived it, as you being taken advantage of. Even the person as they took your last bit of money chuckled to themselves thinking: “what an idiot.” Pure foolishn

"My Helper"

Ephesians 6:21-22-23 But that ye may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Tychicus is mentioned 5 times in the bible, He is always mentioned with great qualities. He was Beloved, A faithful minister in the Lord, a fellow servant with Paul, a reliable source. His name comes from the Greek word Tuchikos which means: Fortuitous, fortunate, it’s a derivative from other Greek words, (allow me to h

"Unchanging"

Ephesians 6: 1-3 Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Every parent knows this verse, you can’t quote any scripture, but this is the one scripture you can quote, to your kids, that is. Our kids referred to it as ‘the bible threat’ maybe because it proceeded the possibility of a short miserable life. I guess the glass is either half full or half empty, depends on which half you want. I spoke with a person that travels around the country in all white clothing and self-proclaims herself as an apostle/prophet of the lord. She told

The God of Presence

Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over When we read this with our western eyes, the symbolism brings to mind a dinner table at Thanksgiving, with our enemies sitting around watching us eat. But, let’s look at it a different way today. In Exodus, the Israelites were given exact instructions on how to prepare the tabernacle for the LORD. The furnishings of the Tabernacle (A tent or movable structure, which later became the Holy Temple.) We see further instructions from YAHUAH in: Leviticus 24:7 And thou shall put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be a bread of memorial, even an offering made by

The Lord Is There

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye ask in My name, that will I do. That the Father may be glorified in the Son. I Corinthians 14:1 Follow after charity and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophecy. Have you ever been to church and listened to someone prophesy? Have you ever wondered if this is still available to the body of Christ? Good news! It is! And you can have this gift too. Some people believe that the gifts of the spirit died out with the apostles, but nowhere in the bible does it say they have stopped. Some would quote: I Corinthians 13:8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end, as for languages (tongues), they will cease, as, for knowledge, it will

Dreams

Mathew 2:13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” I love it when God gives me a good dream. This was an instructional night vision given to Joseph after the wise men had left. Thank God for all of us that Joseph followed the instructions of the angel. Much of the bible is based on dreams, some ministers say as much as one-third of the bible is related to dreams. It would make sense, observing that we sleep approximately one-third of the day. When I was a young Christian, people would

My Light

Isaiah 58:8-9 Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am, if you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh unjust, and wicked speaking. Amplified Bible Sounds like, a great day? But

One More Day

II Corinthians 4: 16-17 Therefore, we do not lose heart, even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. These two verses are from the letter to the church at Corinth, Greece. It was also known as ‘The City of Sin’, it looks like an island off the southern part of Greece that is connected by a small strip of land. Corinth was a very wealthy city back in the day, party town I guess you could call it. They had a temple with 1000 prostitutes that would walk out every evening to apply their trade. Travelers had to pass through this cit

Build on the Rock

Mathew 7: 24-27 Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: “and the rains came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell, and great was its fall.” I lived in South Louisiana for several years and believe me I can relate to this verse in the natural as well as the spiritual. Thunderhead clouds would roll in off the Gulf of Mexico, wit

Predestination

Romans 8:29-30 For whom the Lord knew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called; these He also justified; these He also justified, these He also glorified. Predestination, this word is only found six times in the bible and it comes from the Greek word, Proorizo which means: “to decide beforehand.” It reminds me of an old joke, that is used for wide variety of humor: “look up the word predestine in the dictionary and your picture will be next to it.” Everyone has a predestination of God, before the foundation of the world His destiny for you, was to accept

Unchanging God

Galatians 5: 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such there is no law I was watching a newscast the other day and the lawmakers were voting in laws or against laws. I contemplated this and could not get it out of my mind. Today while studying this verse it dawned on me. As a nation, I don’t think there is a clear answer to how many laws we currently have on the books. I did see where 40,000 laws were added in one day, January 2012. But there are no laws that can be formed against the Spirit of God. But there is a tax, “a love tax” I guess you could call it when you go get your marriage license.

He’s A Good Good God

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit, or the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. I love this verse think about it often. It is an endless promise from God, as far as your eye can see you have still not seen the good things God has promised for you. The farthest distance you can hear, you have more to listen to, But, listen to what? See what? I’ve noticed that God is a teacher, He loves to teach and He loves for you to ask Him questions. It amazes me that if I ask about a subject He will get the answer to me

The Lord Your God

Colossians 2: 6-10 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him. Rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwells all the fullness of Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. So that you can see the true depth of what Paul is saying to the Colossians. I’ll paraphrase some here, (With my very limited understanding of Hebrew.) As ye have therefore received The Divine Anointed Messiah

“The God Who Saves”

Psalm 118:5 “I called on the Lord in my distress. The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place” Recently while visiting California I was able to do my morning bible study while looking out over Stoney Creek. You can’t actually see the creek from there because the woods are so thick. When I was a young child we used to play in those woods all day and night, running up and down the pathways, that we knew so well. I never once got lost, I even remember helping another boy out of the woods that was completely lost and scared, crying out for help. I just brought him to a place and pointed him down the right path. The path eventually led back to the city, the broad place, safety. I remember th

“The Lord is Good”

Numbers 14:24 But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it. Caleb one God’s men, you have never met him, but you just love him. Let’s take a little look into Caleb. It looks like he was grafted into the tribe of Judah, his family was not originally one of the twelve tribes of Israel, as seen in: Joshua 14:14 “Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite.” Caleb was sent out by Moses along with eleven other men to spy out the land for forty days. When the 12 spies came back on the appointed day they all spoke to the people about the fruit if the land, but then right on cue,
