Hebrews 11:24-26

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.

We can learn much from Moses's humility, and he walked away from it all. Moses was living in the lap of luxury. When he decided to defend his people by killing an Egyptian, the Hebrews turned against him, and he fled into the wilderness, but God called this faith. Moses knew that if he started helping the Hebrews, that there would be consequences, he didn't expect them to come so fast.

He chose to suffer affliction rather than enjoy the treasures of Egypt. I know some Christians that have given up much to serve the Lord. Someone I know was praying for a missionary. He prayed, "Lord, they have given everything up for you." And he said the Lord spoke to him and said, "You have no idea how much they gave up!" We both know that the person would have been very successful in business and marriage. Instead, they chose to serve God and the afflictions of being in his missionary service.

If you can, find a missionary that you can support. Every dollar you donate can help save a soul. Even $20.00 a month goes a long way, and they need it. It costs a missionary about $30,000.00 a year to operate overseas. So, your help is essential, and when things get financially tight, don't stop giving to them, because that's the first thing most Christians will cut from their budget.

Moses became a missionary to his people, a deliverer. You can send a missionary to your people. Once a person gets saved, they become your brothers and sisters; our people are the sons and daughters of Jesus Christ, the Deliverer.
