Powerful Mindset May 22

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

This bible verse is one of my favorite scriptures in the bible. Sometimes we can get into situations where we need to settle ourselves down. For example, past-due bills can bring you into a place of fear, and fear is a type of bondage that the enemy uses for control.

But God wants us to operate in a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.

Recently I was in the hospital with covid and covid 19 double pneumonia. I had been running a fever for days; the most challenging thing was that I could not remember any bible scriptures. I later found out that when your oxygen levels get too low, it causes memory loss.

It was looking like I was going to have to be placed on a ventilator. I cannot take the thought of something in my throat; even typing this out is making me squirm. I was scared, and then someone texted me this scripture.

I was so grateful, and I immediately started to quote it to myself. The fear lessened, and I did not have to go on the machine. Faith replaced fear, and with faith restored, it gave me confidence that I would recover.

Fear starts in your mind, and faith starts in the heart.
