2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
This is one of my favorite scriptures in the bible. Sometimes we can get into situations where we need to settle ourselves down. Past due bills, for example can put you into a place of fear, and fear is a type of bondage that the enemy uses for control.
But God wants us to operate in a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.
Recently I was in the hospital with covid and covid 19 double pneumonia. I had been running a fever for days, the hardest thing was that I could not remember any bible scriptures. I later found out that when your oxygen levels get too low it causes memory loss.
It was looking like I was going to have to be placed on a ventilator. I cannot take the thought of something in my throat, even typing this out is making me squirm. I was scared, then someone texted me this scripture.
I was so grateful, and I immediately started to quote it to myself. The fear lessened and I did not have to go on the machine. Fear was replaced with faith, and faith gave me confidence that I would recover.
Fear starts in the mind and faith starts in the heart.
