Galatians 3: 13 -14
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The Apostle Paul wrote this epistle to the Galatians. The Galatians were trying to combine Judaism with Christianity, believing that they would have to be circumcised to be saved.
The Galatians were falling into the trap that so many modern-day Christians live by the tangled web of works. People still believe that they have to do works to be saved. I saw on tv years ago a festival for the Lord, and men were on their knees whipping their backs as a sign of repentance. I thought to myself, ‘They have made the cross to none effect.’
That means that they did not believe that the blood of Jesus was enough for their salvation.
When Jesus died on the cross, He was cursed so that we could receive the Blessing of Abraham and that the blessing of the Spirit of Faith would be ours. Faith that Jesus Christ is our salvation, faith is for our circumstances, you can have faith in His name, and Faith has many names.
The Just Shall Live by Faith.
