King Me December 7

Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

This verse has stuck in my head for years. I used to think it pertained to a person’s sin or past crimes and that God, by His grace, conceals it. For whatever reason, the authors of King James elected to translate the Hebrew word daw-bawr over to the English word thing. Maybe it wasn’t the best choice of words, and that’s what it means, word.

By searching out the text, we have a better understanding of what Father God means. God has elected to conceal His words in the text of the bible. Solomon wrote in

Ecclesiastes 12:10

The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

When you study the bible and discover words and meanings for yourself, it’s to your honor. Have you ever; or have you ever been around someone and they want to tell you about a revelation they received from the Lord while reading the bible? Their excited and usually full of joy, wanting to share their new insights with you. You can be a king when you study your bible.
