From Old to New December 27

Luke 22:19-20

And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

The Lord’s Supper Jesus explains His previous statements in:

John 6:53

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Many of the disciples left when He said this, and they said, “this is a hard saying; who can believe this?” These were the same seventy that Jesus had sent out in His name to heal the nation. Now they have deserted Him. But it was a fulfilling prophecy about scattering the sheep ( Ezekiel.)

We now know that when we take Communion, we are taking the body of Christ and His blood in remembrance of Him.

But something is exciting about it,

Luke 22:19

This cup is the new testament in my blood,

Have you ever thought about what did Jesus mean when He said the New Testament? They had just finished the Passover Supper, which represented the deliverance of the Hebrews from Eygpt when they crossed over the Red Sea. When Jesus dies on the cross, He has passed over from death to life. And now Jesus has instituted The New Testament, His Will, and Testament, by taking of His Body & His Blood, in Holy Communion.

When a will is enforced, all the legal rights go to the person inheriting the will, all the belongings. When you partake in Communion, you receive all the legal rights to the New Testament! The New Testament is in you! Along with all the Power and Authority that goes with it, you have the power of Jesus Christ!

Selah, think about that.
