Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Probably one of the best-known bible verses globally, every culture has heard of the curse, but was it?

God knew the consequences of Adam and Eve’s sin, and this situation was desperate we can see how serious the problem was in this following verse, 3:22

lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever:

God drove Adam and Eve out of the garden then placed a Cherubim with a flaming sword to keep humankind out. Scholars believe that, because they did not set a period (.) after forever, it was hastily done, showing the urgency they had to be removed.

Father God knew there was only one way to redeem us, and that was through the blood and death of His Son. By having mankind sweat to make a living, He created a world economy. All crops are brought forth in sweat one way or another.

There are two other mentions of sweat in the bible, Ezekiel 44:18 that forbids the priests from wearing wool while they are inside the temple to not sweat in God’s presence.

You can also find it in one other place,

Luke:22:44

And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

When Jesus sweat, His blood into the ground, He was preparing for a harvest, plowing seeds of salvation for the redemption of humanity.

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have become one of the fruits of the costliest crops in world history.
