“SUDDENLY!” September 7
Amos 3:7
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.
Do you want to know a secret? Many people think that this promise by God has ended already, largely due to a misunderstanding of this one scripture:
1Corinthians 13:8
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Charity is love, and love will never fail because God is a loving God.
But the day will come when Jesus sets up His kingdom on earth. After this, there won't be any need for prophecies because we will know God's will, no need to pray in tongues. After all, we will be in His presence. Words of knowledge are situational, and there won't be any situation where you won't have God's knowledge to do the task at hand.
But for now, God lets His people know in advance the works He's about to do. And exactly why is this? In my limited understanding, laws in the Spirit, or the rules God has created to govern humankind by, He won't do something unless it has been spoken by man first.
Revealing why the gift of speaking in tongues is so essential when praying in The Holy Spirit, we unknowingly talk about battle plans for the Lord, lay up an inheritance for our children's children, such as salvation.
While typing this devotion, the Lord spoke to me and said:
"SUDDENLY!"
"Tell them there will be a SUDDENLY!"
He is: Jehovah-Palat
