Judge, No Jury July 17

Jude 1:6

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Angels are God’s creations; roughly one-third of the angels rebelled against God and were cast out of heaven. It’s uncertain for sure, but the angels above left their first estate. I believe that these were the angels from the book of Genesis 6: 1-5. These particular angels, some 200 in all, left their angelic state and became human.

Genesis informs us that they saw that the daughters of men were fair and took whomever they wanted for wives. The children that came forth became giants and men of renown, well known for their wicked deeds.

The book of Enoch said that the angels were watchers over men. They had a particular assignment to intercede on man’s behalf but chose to leave that assignment and ravish humankind. They asked Enoch if he would intercede for them unto God. Enoch did inquire of the Lord for them, and the response they received was eternal damnation. God said: “You were supposed to watch after mankind and intercede on their behalf, and now you sent a man to intercede for you!”

God was having none of it. God told them that they would live on the earth for five hundred years and then be chained in darkness until the day of judgment. Their children would have the choice to serve God, but if they chose not to live a righteous life, they would become demons to walk the earth until judgment.

These are where demons come from, once human beings wholly given over to evil, serving the devil and fallen angels.

Years ago, as a police officer while on patrol, I asked the Lord: “Why do demons have to flee at your name?” Instantly as I was driving, I had a vision, I was pulling up to a burglary in my police unit, and the criminals were running in every direction. They were fleeing my authority.

Because of the Name of Jesus, you have that authority to:

Mark 16:17

These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My Name, they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues.

Thank God for the Name of Jesus!

He is: Shaphat
