The Prayer of Faith July 7

James 5:13-16

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed—the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

These verses are called: The Prayer of Faith, formula one for prayer:

1 Having a bad day: Pray.

2 Having a good day: Sing.

3 Having sickness: Get oil, have the elder pray.

4 Having Sinned: Confess.

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick. The prayer of faith is much simpler than you think. When I first started stepping out and praying for people, I was consumed with having enough faith for my prayers to get answered for others. What would people think if I prayed for them and nothing happened? Well, I know the answer now, if nothing happened, nothing would have happened.

Then one day, I just decided; God, this is on you; if I pray for someone, there’s nothing I can do to make it happen; only you can make it happen. My attitude was its God’s problem now. Unknowingly I stumbled into faith, and you see, I had placed my faith in God simply by giving it over to Him.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much

Another time I was having a particular problem with sin, I spoke with some elders in the church, and they pointed out that my problem wasn’t with sin; it was with something else. It was like they stood back from the forest, and they could see the trees, and I was in the middle of the woods. The sense of relief was immediate, and I was set free from guilt. Because they prayed effectually and in faith, the Lord revealed the truth. If your elders are filled with The Holy Spirit, you will get your healing.

John 8:36 If the Son, therefore, shall set you free, ye shall be free indeed.
