Jesus is The Captain June 21

Psalm 89:9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

This verse is a prophecy concerning the authority of Jesus, and He has rule over the oceans. We can see Jesus fulfilling this very scripture in:

Mark 4:39

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

I think most of us would have rebuked the waves instead of the wind, don’t you? The waves are cresting over the boat, causing everyone to suffer from seasickness and fear. But the waves are the manifestation of the problem, and the problem was the wind.

Jesus always knows where the truth of the problem lies.

I heard about a sixth-grade teacher who brought his students to see the movie Titanic. However, he brought them to figure out a solution, how can we save the passengers? Their answer was brilliant, practical, and simple.

Turn the ship around in a circular motion, throw everything off the ship that could float into the inner circle between the ship and the iceberg. Then moor alongside the iceberg and anchor to it, attach to the very thing that caused the catastrophe until help arrived.

There was a solution, but no one thought of it. What if the captain would have thought to pray and ask God for an answer? The outcome would have changed. The enemy will tell you there is only one way this will end, and it’s always a negative ending with him.

But Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, and He wrote the all-time best-selling book in world history. Jesus anchored His body to the cross. The very thing everyone else thought was death. He did it to produce life, life everlasting!

When your problem seems unsurmountable, anchor yourself to Jesus, He can change your ending too!

Just ask Job.
