Spiritual House Cleaning June 24

Deuteronomy 7:26

Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

Deuteronomy is known as the 'Book of Obedience.' Delivered to and written by Moses, it outlines principles for a blessed life.

What classifies as an abomination? An abomination is morally disgusting, such as pornography, but more importantly, something that God hates. Certain cultures will practice abominable religions and then give you an artifact that appears harmless, but is it? No.

At a yard sale once, I saw a picture with a beautiful Indian lady on it. It was round and had lovely feathers hanging off it. I thought, 'I know someone who has things like this in their home. I'll get it for them.' When I made it back home, I hung it from a hook in my den ceiling.

Shortly after this, I began to feel like my prayers were not going anywhere as if they were not going past my ceiling (my den was where I always prayed and studied.) One of my sons' friends came into the house and noticed the picture, and he told me it was called a dream catcher.

One morning I sat down to read my bible. I quickly fanned the pages from the back to the front, and I read the words in perfect order; 'You Have A Demon!' I was shocked. I looked over at the dream catcher and thought, "I need to call someone." I called a lady that I knew and asked her about it. She said, "Scott, you need to get that out of your house right now because they pray evil spirits into those objects!"

Enough said; I started to pray, took it down from the ceiling, and carried it out to the trash. As I walked, I could see the countenance of the lady change into complete anger! I said, "I'm not giving you a chance to get into somebody else's home!" I broke it over my knee, immediately I felt the atmosphere change and peace instantly entered my home!

I could tell my prayers were going up after that.

If you feel as though your prayers are being hindered, maybe it's time you do some spiritual house cleaning. Objects like horoscopes and certain types of music can usher them in. I call them keys that the enemy uses to gain entrance into your home or your life. It can be challenging because possibly a friend or family member gave it to you.
