ISAIAH 54: 5
For thy Maker is thine Husband; the Lord of Hosts is His name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall He be called.
This verse is referring to the return of the exiles out of Babylon back to Israel. However, it’s a powerful description of the character and identity of God.
When everything in the world seems to be coming after you, as a Christian, this verse is one you can use in prayer, a reminder to yourself who God is and who God is on your behalf.
I can see that God uses six different names to identify Himself!
Maker: To accomplish, bring forth, Your Creator.
Husband: He’s married to you, to your needs, to your problems, when married the two become one.
The Lord of Hosts: This means He’s in charge of a mass army of angels organized and waiting to war on your behalf!
Redeemer: He’s ready to repurchase you, to assume your debt, to pay your debt in full, cancel your sin.
Holy One of Israel: The line of Abraham,
(Romans 3: 29 He is the God of the Gentiles also.)
Your God.
The God of The Whole Earth Shall He be called:
It reveals that God is very confident of His immutable victory, as sure as your last breath God has won.
When things are tough, it’s ok to remind God who He is according to His word, and He wants you to do this.
Isaiah 43: 26
Put me in remembrance; let us plead together; declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
He is: Jehova – Sabaoth
Lord of Hosts
