Psalm 4: 5

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

What are sacrifices of righteousness? As I pondered this verse, I heard these words from the Holy Spirit; "What you're doing right now." Studying His Word, the Bible, it's that you're taking valuable time to learn God's word, His ways. Spending time searching out God by reading the Bible, getting up and going to church, singing His praises, kneeling in prayer are sacrifices of righteousness.

Little by little, these sacrifices add up. I don't know if Jesus uses compound interest, but I know He pays well, and the retirement benefits are fantastic. These sacrifices are bringing the words of Jesus to life.

Mathew 6: 20 - 21

But lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal:

For where your treasure is there will your heart be also.

Your sacrifices of righteousness build treasure, and the treasure positions your heart, and by positioning your heart, you complete this verse:

..and put your trust in the Lord.

Now you know where your heart is; it's trusting in the Lord.
