Zechariah 1:3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Return unto Me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
Zechariah opens with a compelling invitation which God still offers today:
Return unto Me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
I've had people come to me in the past and tell me basically that they have given up on going to church.
Hosea shows this beautiful character of God and His willingness for you to return to Him:
Hosea 14:4 - I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
This verse takes away the guilt, and once you've been out for a while, you start to have subtle thoughts of disbelief. Will God forgive me? People will think I'm a hypocrite, and so on. Whatever your negative thinking, God says He will heal you and love you freely.
When you find yourself in a place of exhaustion, you need to stir up the gifts within you. I've recommended to people in the past to take little steps of faith. Say to yourself, "I will read two chapters in my bible today, and I will spend five minutes in prayer." The Lord will help you breakthrough, and this gives Him something to work with on your behalf.
Remember this; God is for you if your heart is for Him.
