My Light

Isaiah 58:8-9

Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am, if you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh unjust, and wicked speaking.

Amplified Bible

Sounds like, a great day? But it’s the seven verses before that explain how you can achieve this promise. Change your ways if you haven’t already. It talks about all the sacrifices people place on themselves and seem to never get anywhere.

However, there is one key word above it all, the word is oppression.

Oppression is defined as:

1) Prolonged, cruel, or unjust treatment or control.

2) The state of being subject to unjust treatment or control.

3) Mental pressure or distress.

There are many ways to place yourself under oppression. Using drugs can give yourself over to mental distress or mental control. I’ve noticed among a few Christians over the years the unspoken belief: “If I have a medical prescription for it, it’s okay.”

It may be legal but that doesn’t make it okay, that is if the drugs are for pleasure. If you’re in pain and you need it, by all means. This is how people pick up yokes, they put them down and then go back and pick them up again.

Offenses come to mind, it’s often things people have done years ago, that just pop-up and instead of letting it go we pick the thought up like a favorite pet and try to cuddle it in our minds. The misery of being wronged and self-pity can feel like a toy poodle, but it is actually an angry viper, trying to choke the light out of your destiny.

Stop judging others, for some reason, this allows the enemy a stronghold in your life, this includes politicians, athletes, school teachers, police officers and any other person (Yes, I’m guilty, but it’s only because I’m right).

When I first began to preach, I would notice that when I pointed my index finger to illustrate something that, three of my fingers were pointing back at me!

If you have a particular sin in your life that you struggle with, try fasting and prayer. When you have reached the point where God can correct you, He will deliver you.

Promises from God are worth your efforts.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;

He is: “Ori”

“My Light”

Blessing’s
