He’s A Good Good God December 23

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit, or the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

I love this verse, and I think about it often. It is an endless promise from God. As far as your eye can see, you have still not seen the good things God has promised for you. The farthest distance you can hear, you have more to listen to, but listen to what? See what?

I’ve noticed that God is a teacher, He loves to teach, and He loves for you to ask Him questions. It amazes me that if I ask about a subject, He will get the answer to me. The bible is the best textbook ever written, but it’s the splendor in how He can teach you that is amazing.

One time for three weeks, the Lord asked me to go to the front of the church for prayer at the end of each service. I have never liked to be the person up front or public speaking, so going up for prayer was challenging for me.

Every service, the pastor preached on something that I had been going through, the third week came around, and the Holy Spirit asked me to go up for prayer again; I told the Lord, “I will but please don’t ask me to go up for prayer again, not a fourth time, please!”

Our pastor was gone, and his wife did the sermon that day. As usual, I sat in the back row. She began by announcing the name of the sermon: “Peter walks on water” I fell forward in my seat and said out loud, “No, not this message Lord!” The man next to me just looked at me in bewilderment.

And then the moment came that I knew she was going to say: “If anyone wants to get out of the boat and walk on water for the Lord, come up here for prayer.” It was a relatively large church, and you could have heard a pin drop; it was so quiet, no one moved, not even a mouse, I think I saw a mouse, and he was frozen motionless in total fear of what the Lord was about to do, and it was my reflection! I pushed myself up and walked forward. I could feel every eye in the building looking at me, pressing their thoughts into my low self-esteem. As she prayed for me, I didn’t hear a word she said because I feared being in front of everyone. It must have been a great prayer because I could hear the congregation clapping.

When she finished, I walked in the opposite direction so that I wouldn’t see anyone looking at me. Then this little old Cajun lady Miss Eula said, “Obedience! God told me you were obedient!”

God was looking for obedience so that He could teach me to trust In Him. Later on, this little old Cajun lady gave me this word two times from the Lord: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

That was 14 years ago, Miss Eula has gone on to be with the Lord, but I will never forget those words spoken with the Cajun accent. I would have never imagined the lovely wife Judy that God gave me, the ministry of Prayer Stop, Prayer Stop on the Air radio program, Scott Coy Prophetic Ministries, my Chaplain’s license, ordination, and most of all the Prophetic gift to pray for others.

He made my life worth living again and again by helping others. He’s a Good, Good God!
