The Lord is Good December 22

Numbers 14:24

But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.

Caleb, one of God’s men, it looks like he was grafted into the tribe of Judah, his family was not originally one of the twelve tribes of Israel, as seen in:

Joshua 14:14

Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite.

Moses sent out Caleb along with eleven other men to spy out the land for forty days. When the 12 spies came back on the appointed day, they all spoke to the people about the fruit of the land. But right on cue, the devil starts telling them about all the obstacles, mainly the giants.

Caleb stood up and quieted the people before Moses and said:

Numbers 13:30

Let us go up at once and take the possession, for we are well able to overcome it!

The next day, the people wanted to stone Moses and Arron. Caleb and Joshua tore their clothes and went out amongst the people trying to calm them down, risking their own lives to protect the Priest, the Prophet, and God’s Promise. What can we take out of this significant point in history?

1: Sometimes, as a leader, you don’t disclose all the facts of the vision before the congregation. The details were just too big for these people, but the promise wasn’t.

2: Moses should have met with the men separately, not before the congregation. Then he could have spoken encouraging words to the people.

3. Sometimes, when you receive direction from God, strap your amour on and head out to the battle before the enemy can bring the adverse circumstances up and all the reasons why you can’t.

4. Caleb has a different spirit in him, and so do you if you have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

5. Caleb’s family was grafted into the vine of the Hebrews, and so are you if you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior:

Romans 11:17

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree.

Individuals in the bible have inherited great promises from the Lord were grafted in. Some are born to a nation, and others have to believe in getting there.

But Caleb and Joshua entered into the Promised land, and at age 85, when everyone else wanted to quit fighting, Caleb stood up and said: “I have a promise, I will go to the mountains and fight the giants!” He did just that, and he took the promise that God had given him 45 years earlier. He took all the land of Hebron, the high rugged mountains that the giants lived in, and the cities. Now Caleb had become one of God’s generals.

Once, the Lord told me: “Audacity in the Spirit is for posterity,” Which means: Acts of Boldness in the Holy Spirit are recorded for all future generations to see. Ask God for your inheritance; it’s for your own good.
