Victory in Rest March 1

Isaiah 30:15

For the Lord, The Holy One of Israel, said, “In quiet and rest is your salvation: Peace and hope are your strength.”

God is so amazing! He operates contrary to what the world tells us. Rest soothes the soul; the battle-torn soul. Sometimes I think our spirit is wrapped in a body that looks more like a band-aid, in mummy type layers of cloth holding our spirit in. I have ministered to counselors that have pushed themselves so hard that they have reached the burnout syndrome. They reach a place where it only takes one-more-little thing to push them into quitting. They begin by taking the burdens of others onto themselves, instead of casting their cares over to Christ they carry the worry of others, we were never created to be the burden bearers.

If you council or advise someone, when they leave their problems go to, don't let them linger in your mind, I don't stay up at night worrying about them, (well I try not to) because I'm not God and neither are you. I've seen devout Christians leave the church because they picked up someone else's offense. When it comes to offenses, you need to stay on the defensive with peace and hope as your strength.
