God my Rock January 23

PSALM 18:46

The Lord Lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

When you look at this verse it just explodes out of Psalm 18! In Psalm 17:3 David is pleading his case before the Lord, You have tested my heart; you have visited me in the night; You have found nothing.

Next in Psalm 18, David begins to remind himself of who God is and what He has done for him in the past. Suddenly he shouts out with this, “The Lord Lives!” “Blessed be my Rock!” “Let the God of my salvation be exalted!” It bursts out of his heart like the waters of Mount Horeb, the Rock that provided water for Moses and the Hebrew people in Exodus 17:6. This was the first time that the word rock was mentioned in the bible. Jesus was the Rock and still is to this day,

1Corinthians 10:4 For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

When going through the trials of life remind yourself and God of what He has done for you in the past and Thank Him. I’ve done this and the presence of the Holy Spirit brings peace to you knowing He won’t fail you, remember He is the God of your salvation, and salvation means victory.
