“God of Might and Power”
Romans 8: 37-39
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through
him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor
powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be
able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord.
I Love this scripture I used to attend a church pastored by Dr. Lee
Lamury (Bro. Lee) and he had a great analogy of this verse.
He compared it to a champion prize fighter that trains so very
hard to win the Heavy Weight title. Think of all the hours of hard
work and conditioning he must undergo to win this title, hours of
brutal punishment not mention the mental preparation to endure
the day of the big fight. He enters the ring and fights for the full 12
rounds winning a triumphant victory! With hands raised in the air
they place the golden Heavy Weight Champion of the World belt
around his waist. He’s done it! Achieved the World Championship
and now he’s the conqueror.
When he gets home he shows his wife the belt, then opens that
envelope with a check worth millions of dollars, smiles and signs
the back of the check, and hands it over to his wife, now she has
just become More than a Conqueror!
That’s how Christ Jesus see’s us more than a conqueror, the fight
has been done and the reward is ours.
