Isaiah 3:10
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
God’s promises don’t get much better than this. Often times in counseling with other people I run across the sin of un-forgiveness. But not in the way you think, mostly people have a hard time trying to forgive themselves and they are even unwilling to do so.
Peter asked our Lord this question, thinking he was justified at forgiving someone seven times.
Mathew 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Mathew 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
That’s an incredible 490 times! But I have learned that this verse applies more to myself than to others. A past sin or failure comes to my mind over and over again like a broken record that just keeps playing the same line of music over and over in my head. I have to forgive myself not once or twice but as many times as it takes.
What the Lord has called clean let no man call unclean. When you ask Jesus for forgiveness you are clean by the Holiness of His blood, not by our works. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you are made Righteous Through Him.
