The GAP January 4
Ezekiel 22:30
"I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.”
Recently I spoke with a lady that told me she studies the bible and all the religions. Years ago, she watched the movie ‘The Passion’ and stated: “I’m really mad at God! Who could do such a thing to their own child?” she went on to relate her feelings to me about God the abusive parent.
I had never thought of God this way, so I was careful with my response. I waited and then replied, “Have you ever worked for a boss that would tell you to go do something, but that same boss would never do that work himself?” she thought for a moment and nodded yes. I said “How did it make you feel? Personally, I would resent it."
I went on to say, "Now this is the hard part. Jesus was God, He came to do the job Himself, His eyes looked for a man to stand in the gap and found no one, so He came and stood for us. God is the greatest boss on earth.”
It was beautiful transformation that only a mother could have, I could actually see the anger melt off her face and turn to love. Jesus came to stand in the GAP on our behalf.
If God is asking you to intercede for someone today, and I pray that He will, remember He dwells in you and He will do it through you, because He needs you to stand in the GAP for others.
