Real Face Time October 31

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I used to play on a church softball team. Our pastor, an excellent coach, would occasionally yell out, "Attitude Check!" Unanimously the team would shout back, "Jesus is Lord!"

Maybe our nation, our people, need an attitude check? Whose name are you called by? I hope you didn't miss the chance to yell "Jesus!"

We are called by His name, and we have the choice to humble ourselves before the Lord.

Now's the time to pray like never before, like being in a war, a spiritual war. Right now, we're living off the prayers of our nation's founders, but the question is, what prayers will our children live off of?

And seek My Face, what does it mean to seek God's face? Face comes from the Hebrew word panyim (paw-neem ). It has a great variety of applications, in particular, the face, the part that turns.

Have you ever had a friend walk by, and you called out their name, and they turned to look at you? Hopefully, when they recognized you, they smiled. Imagine they were angry with you about something, they look at you for a second or two, and then they smiled, now you know you have been forgiven.

If it's your parents, you get your allowance back. If it's God, we get our nation back. Heaven is a long way from here, but God's not deaf, and He's undoubtedly alive.

Your prayers matter.
