LOGOS / RHEMA September 23

John 1:1-2

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

&

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

In the beginning was The Divine Expression, the Logos of God. Notice that in John 1:1, Word is capitalized because it is the name of Jesus Christ. When written In the original Greek, they used the word Logos, and Logos means: The Divine Expression (That is Jesus Christ) or something said, and much more.

When they translated it into English, they translated it: Word, sometimes capitalized and sometimes not.

In the second verse, Romans 10:17, Paul uses the Greek word: Rhema, and this translates over as word, which are the spoken words of the bible or the written words in the bible. So, in essence, we have one word with two possible meanings.

It somehow reveals to us the magnificent beauty of God's Glory, His intellect, and so much more. In Genesis chapter 1, God spoke the universe into existence using these words: "God said."

"God said" ten times, eight times He referred to the creation and two times were instructions given to humankind.

So, what's the point behind all this? Jesus's name in heaven was probably Logos before He became flesh. God used the Rhema word to create the world and universe, Jesus became the Logos on earth to speak the Rhema words of God to reconcile His creation and defeat the enemy with His Word so that He can make all things new:

Revelation 21:5

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Now that's Logos

He is: Logos

The Word
