And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
The Holy Spirit is directing the Apostle Paul to write these very words. Words of assurance and the order of the blessing. Notice that rest comes immediately upon a Saint’s death, their labor is over and then this amazing note placed in perfect order: and their works do follow them.
Works that you do for the Lord are recorded in your: Book of Life or your Book of Acts.
I had a vision recently of a hand fanning through pages in a ringed binder, The Spirit told me, “ This is the Book of Life, your life Scott.”
I wish there would have been a couple hundred more pages, maybe in heaven, they use a really small font? Scripture backs up this vision:
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened; which is the book of life;and the dead were judged by those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
But notice that your works follow you into heaven like cars behind a train. They don’t go before you like a trumpet proclaiming all that you have done. We can do nothing of value unless through Christ first. It will be a testament to your faith in Christ.
I remember once that the Holy Spirit told me, “Acts of Audacity in faith, are recorded for posterity.”
Simply said that means, Bold acts of Faith are recorded for all the future generations.
