Treasure Hunting October 24

Mathew 13:44

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Have you ever wondered why a man would find a treasure and then hide it in the field? And why would he immediately sell everything he had to buy that field? Why not just take the treasure home?

Because he knew there was more treasure hidden in the field. The treasure is Jesus Christ, and the field is your Bible. For some people, when they accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, it costs them everything. The cost in some cultures can be exclusion from your family and possibly even your life.

Once you become a Christian, there is much more; there’s a relationship with Jesus, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Spiritual Blessings, the fruits of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such, there is no law.

When people accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they seem to get these blessings/fruits right off as if the fruit of the Spirit was lying on top of the ground, but others like me have to dig to get the fruit. Try digging through pride to find humility; it’s like digging through granite sometimes.

No matter what your circumstance is in life, I assure you the Bible has the answer. If you dig into the word of God, you will discover what He planted for you.
