Ezekiel 4:1

Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and portray upon it the city even Jerusalem.

I’ll have to paraphrase this devotion because the verses needed are too long, but please open your bible and read verses 1-7. The Lord is telling Ezekiel to take a tile and make a drawing depicting the city of Jerusalem. Next, he tells Ezekiel to build fortifications around it, laying siege to the city.

Then here comes the confusing part, God tells Ezekiel that he will lay their iniquity on it. He’s going to judge them for their sins. He then commands Ezekiel to lay next to the city on his left side for 390 days and 40 days on his right side. Each day will represent one year of punishment, equaling out to 430 years.

God warns Israel,

Leviticus chapter 26:18

“Then I will punish you seven times.”

Israel has just come out of seventy years of captivity so, God in His mercy will deduct the seventy years as time served, now we’re down to 360 years of punishment times seven which equals 2520 years of dispersion.

To calculate this timeline correctly, you must take 2520 years and multiply it by 365 days, then reconstruct it into years in the Hebrew calendar (A Lunar calendar); now, we have 907,200 days.

Okay, still with me? Now we need a starting date, and fortunately, this is a recorded date in history. It is the date that Persian King Cyrus set the Jews free after he conquered the Babylonians: July 23, 537 B.C.

When we add 907,200 to the calendar, we conclude that the judgment ended, May 14, 1948.

The day that Israel became a nation!

Seventy years later, on the day of the seventieth-anniversary celebration, May 14, 2018, the United States of America relocated our embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
