Moving Forward September 13

Numbers 10:35

And it came to pass, when the ark was set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

I love the words: And it came to pass, the bible doesn’t ever say: And it came to stay. When the ark was set forward, this means that the ark of God was moving forward. God never backs down.

As Christians, we should always be moving forward, yesterday is behind us, we can’t do anything about the mistakes we made. Apostle Paul was aware of this when he said:

Philippians 3:13

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

It seems just like us; Paul carried the weight of his past sins. Before he took the surname of Paul, his name was Saul of Tarsus, and Saul was a fierce man. When he became a Christian, the very movement that he was trying to stop, the movement of Christ, moved forward and overtook Saul, scattering his sin and making him a new man. So much so that he decided to change his name.

What was Paul trying to achieve? Christ-likeness, I think we can only achieve it in small moments, where we bless someone, or when we turn the other cheek, little things like this, little things that cause the enemy to be scattered.

Through the Holy Spirit, the ark of God rests in your heart, and His movements are in your actions.
