Revelation 2:25-26

But that which ye have, hold fast till I come.

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations.

General Patton once said, “I don’t like to pay for the same real estate twice!” I know more than anyone what it’s like to want to quit and give up when it comes to serving the Lord, throw in the towel and ride the church pew until the rapture.

Hebrews 10:38

If they shrink back, God will have no pleasure in them.

That verse alone should keep you striving to be a better Christian. But God wants you to know that there is so much more at stake. The word power comes from the Greek word exousia /ex-oo-see’-ah. It means a sense of ability, delegated authority, potentate, a monarch, or a ruler. Then who were the nations?

Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Nations are a people or a tribe, a church, or a congregation. There’s no telling how much effect your prayers for other people have. When you pray, you are taking the fight to the heavenlies, and you are overcoming and holding your spiritual ground.

Has the enemy ever told you that you are not making a difference? Well, if you weren’t making a difference, he wouldn’t even tell you that, now would he? Why would he? If you’re doing nothing, he will keep silent because that’s what he wants, nothing out of you.
