Tie a Knot November 29
Isaiah 49:25
For I will contend with him who contends with you.
And I will save your children.
I love this verse, and it’s simple and straight to the point. When everything seems to be going against you, this is an excellent verse to hang on to.
I remember a poster with a quote by Thomas Jefferson. It was a picture of a kitten hanging onto the end of a rope with one paw, and the caption said: “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot and Hang On!”
This verse is a lifeline of promise for you. And as a bonus, God said he would save your children too! I have a prayer shawl called a tallit. I often use it when I pray, it has a sense of comfort, and on the bottom corner of the tallit, it has this verse. It’s a daily reminder that God will save my children and somehow get me through the trials of life.
The one who contends with you is the enemy.
Ephesians 6:2
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of the world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Sometimes we need to use Isaiah 49:25 to tie a knot for us so that we can hang on.
