Never Alone January 25

Ecclesiastes 14:12

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not easily broken.

I remember years ago watching a Navy fighter pilot telling his testimony about being shot down over Vietnam and captured by the North Vietnamese army. He endured years of suffering and isolation. They tried hard to break him down and make him confess to war crimes. He was and hopefully still is man filled with wisdom, I was captivated listening to his story. He said something that was his strength that no man could take away. He said, “When you’re in isolation and you have the Lord you are never alone.”

He was tapping into the power of a threefold cord, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. And he wasn’t easily broken.

I’ve never had to endure pain and suffering like that, but I have had times of loneliness and loss where the Lord was my friend and companion. I would just sit and pray, read my bible and put my hope in the Lord. To this day He has never failed me. When the world turns against you draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to you. And remember His cord won’t break.
