How to Recognize your Blessing January 31
Genesis 24:2
And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:
Abraham sent his loyal servant out to find a wife for his son Isaac, Abraham wanted a wife for his son, but he wanted her to be from his own country, and had the servant make a vow by placing his hand on Abraham’s thigh.
The servant made the journey and when he made it to Abraham’s homeland the servant prayed (paraphrased) that God would send Isaac’s wife to meet him at the well and give him water and drink to his animals. Before he finished the prayer Rebekah arrived and did just that. The servant recognized his answered prayer, vs:26
And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.
I had an intoxicated man approach me at Prayer Stop. He started off by asking me for help with rehabilitation and then we prayed for him. As we were ministering to him my friend drove up who is a manager for a men’s rehabilitation program that helps men overcome addictions. My friend gave him his business card telling him that he has to make the call. And the man threw it down on the ground saying we didn’t understand what he needed. He should have bowed his head and Thanked God.
When he wasn’t looking, I stuck a bible and the card in his bag. It was very evident that he did not recognize how quickly Jesus answered his prayer. Sometimes we need help in understanding our answers.
So That we can be Thankful.
