Faith the Final Frontier February 1

Genesis 22:8

And Abraham said, my son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering. So the two of them went together.

Faith the final Frontier, doesn’t this sound like the opening of Star Track? Do you know what the definition of frontier is? In part, the farthermost limits of knowledge or achievement in a particular subject.

Abraham had traveled for three days looking for just the right place to offer his son Isaac, as the Lord had commanded him to do. And Isaac is starting to figure out that something isn’t quite right about this trip?

Isaac has carried the wood on his back for the burnt offering just like Jesus carried the cross. In Hebrews 11:19 the Apostle Paul states that Abraham was fully persuaded that God would raise Isaac back from the dead.

But Isaac was unaware of his Father’s intentions up until this point and he is starting to figure this out. At this point Isaac has to travel the rest of the trip on his Father’s faith. He is willing to let his Father bind him and lay him on the alter, trusting his Father completely and suddenly! The Angel of the Lord shows up! Then Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and behind him was a ram caught in a thicket, Abraham’s faith carried both of them.

Sometimes the hardships just seem to go on and on we keep trusting in our Father, but so many times people quit right before the breakthrough. Jesus will never ask you do something without a plan to bless you. And if you make a mistake God can fix that too.

If you find yourself needing help with Faith ask Jesus, He will carry the wood for you.

Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. (ESV)
